On February 26, Community Relations Manager Tracy Parsons, alongside author Dr. Gilo Kwesi Logan, visited Leal Elementary and Kenwood Elementary Schools to discuss Dr. Logan’s book, Protecting a Dream. Through messages of accountability, perseverance, and personal responsibility, students engaged with the themes of the book and were encouraged to reflect on their own goals, choices, and dreams. The visits provided an inspiring opportunity for students to connect with meaningful lessons about resilience and the importance of staying committed to their aspirations.
At Kenwood Elementary, Chief Tyler addressed parents and educators, offering guidance and practical strategies to help support youth in pursuing their goals and protecting their dreams. His remarks emphasized the shared role of families and schools in fostering resilience, accountability, and positive growth amoung young people, reflecting the City’s commitment to strengthening community partnerships. Also in attendance were Mikal Washington, Community Relations Specialist, and Joe Lamberson, Assistant to the Chief of Police for Community Services.
