The local DMV office in Champaign is currently undergoing remodeling. During this phase, they brought in the mobile Secretary of State DMV unit to maintain services and continue supporting our community. Due to space limitations and the need for secure overnight storage, they requested assistance from our team to help ensure daily operations could run smoothly.
Starting July 28 and continuing through August 2, the Equity and Engagement team, in collaboration with Public Works, has been providing secured overnight storage for the mobile DMV unit at the Public Works garage. This effort has involved coordination with the regional manager, the local DMV site lead, and staff from the Secretary of State’s office in Springfield. It has been a strong example of interdepartmental and interagency collaboration to meet a time sensitive community need.
