On November 4, April Faulkner (Equity and Engagement) attended a seminar on “Grant Writing for Human Service Organizations,” hosted by the Community Learning Lab in the School of Social Work at the U of I. The seminar reviewed where to find funding, what to expect when filling out grant applications, and best practices for submitting a complete and impactful application.
A panel of community leaders, well versed in human services grants, answered a variety of questions about how funding is prioritized, how grants are changing, and in what ways organizations can be most successful. Lastly, they had a dynamic speaker highlight ways to harness social media to work for your organization.
