Public Works Goes the Distance in Winter Storm Cleanup

The Illinois State Water Survey shows that Champaign received 3.7 inches of snowfall during the winter storm January 5-7, 2025. During the storm response, Public Works’ snow and ice operators drove a combined total of 7,205 miles to clear our City’s streets. This is just 150 miles short of a trip from Champaign to Anchorage, Alaska and back! Wow!
