On August 1, 2023, several registered neighborhood groups hosted National Night Out events using up to $500 in small grant funds to cover costs. The $500 is in addition to the $5,000 per year registered groups can access to host neighborhood clean-up, beautification, and social events. Police, Fire, Equity and Engagement, and Neighborhood Services Neighborhood Programs Division were also in attendance at the various events throughout the evening.
Below is a list of neighborhood groups that participated in National Night Out:
- Beardsley Park Neighborhood Association – hosted a cookout and school supply give-a-way in Beardsley Park
- Copper Ridge HOA – hosted a block party in a neighbor’s front yard
- Garden Park and Edgebrook Drive Neighborhood Association – hosted a neighborhood resource fair in Hazel Park
- Timberline Valley North HOA – hosted an ice cream social in the neighborhood
- United Garden Hills Neighborhood Association – hosted a neighborhood party in Garden Hills Park
