Funeral Procession Route Announced for Ross Booker
The Champaign Police Department would like to advise the community of potential traffic delays on the morning of Saturday, March 12. Ross Booker, tow-truck operator and volunteer firefighter with the Saint Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District, will be laid to rest Saturday, March 12, 2022, following a graveside funeral service at the Stanton Friends Cemetery. Ahead of the services, a potentially large procession – including tow apparatus, first responders, and private vehicles – is expected to gather at the Walmart Supercenter at 505 S Dunlap Ave, Savoy before departing at approximately 10:00 a.m., and will follow the below route at a low speed. Because of the size and nature of the procession, the public is advised that traffic impacts are possible along the route.
Departure: Walmart Supercenter, 505 S Dunlap Ave., Savoy, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m.
- Procession will depart Walmart Supercenter, 505 S. Dunlap Ave., Savoy, Illinois
- Head north toward E Windsor Rd.
- Turn right toward E Windsor Rd.
- Turn left onto Illinois Route 130/Philo Rd., Urbana
- Turn right onto Illinois Route 150/University Ave., Urbana
- Turn left onto County Road 2200N/N Main Street, St. Joseph
- Turn left onto County Road 1850N
- Turn right onto County Road 2100 N
- Arrive at Stanton Friends Cemetery
For community members and visitors arriving for morning events as part of the Illinois High School Association basketball tournament in the area of State Farm Center at this time, it is advised to take Neil Street to Kirby Avenue to access this area from the north.
