Last night, at approximately 10:18 PM, Champaign Police Officers responded to the 1000 Block of N. Neil St., after receiving a shots fired report. Upon arrival, police identified a 24-year-old male victim inside the residence with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to an area hospital for a potentially life threatening injury.
Champaign Police are actively investigating this incident, including processing evidence and interviewing potential witnesses. No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Champaign Police Investigations Division at 217-403-6900.
