Staff from the Legal Department and Neighborhood Services closed on the last property acquisition in Bristol Place on Friday, September 29. 82 properties in Bristol have now been acquired by the City of Champaign. John and Gail Shivers were the last residents to be relocated at part of the Bristol Place Project, and have purchased a new home in Champaign. The neighborhood is now vacant and ready for demolition. Demolition of seventeen properties is expected to start later this month.
