The City of Champaign will host a STAR (Service Together Achieves Results) Community Service Day on Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
The STAR Service Day will provide an opportunity for University of Illinois students and community volunteers to participate in community service projects and initiatives to improve neighborhoods located within the City of Champaign.
The projects that will be completed on this day are:
• House Painting Projects
• Park Renovation Dobbins Downs – Mable Thomas Memorial Park
• Sherwood Court Neighborhood Cleanup
• Garwood/ Beardsley Neighborhoods – Champaign Street cleanup
• Garden Hills Neighborhood Blitz
The STAR Service Day is a partnership between City of Champaign Neighborhood Services Department, City of Champaign Registered Neighborhood Groups, University of Illinois Office of Volunteer Programs, and other volunteer groups and service organizations from the area.
