The Champaign Police Department has been investigating an incident that was reported to have occurred in the area of Washington and Miller on May 21, 2014 at around 3:30 PM. A 13 year-old female reported being approached by a male suspect in a green car. This suspect was reported to have exited the car and forced the female into the front seat. While in the car, the female alleges the suspect forced her to perform a sex act. The suspect then dropped the female off near Prospect Ave and Bradley Ave shortly thereafter.
During the early stages of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Kyle Allbright. Based on evidence and statements collected in this incident, Allbright was arrested at the Champaign Police Department on May 23, 2013 at approximately 3:30 p.m. and charged with Child Abduction. He was transported to the Champaign County Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment.
At this time, Champaign Police believe this is an isolated incident. There have been no other recent reports of similar incidents in our area.
