The State of Illinois awarded a contract to Stark Excavating to widen the approaches to the bridge on Windsor Road over I-57. Construction began on April 1 and will be complete on October 15, 2014. There is a requirement that the road be open for traffic on August 15, 2014. Stark is currently working on removing topsoil from the project area and will then be installing temporary sheet piling to allow the construction of retaining walls. The constructions of retaining walls are necessary due to the existing development along Windsor Road. Traffic is being detoured along a marked detour route along Duncan, Kirby, Staley and Curtis Roads.
