Champaign Connection – Episode 29

The 29th episode of “Champaign Connection” runs on CGTV thru the end of April.

  • Jonathan Westfield (School Resource Officer) and Orlando Thomas (Director of Achievement and Pupil Services, Unit 4 Schools) discuss the devastating effect bullying has on our youth. Find out how Champaign Police and Unit 4 Schools have partnered together to combat bullying in our schools, and how social media has made their jobs even more challenging.
  • Joan Walls (Deputy City Manager for Community Relations) and Tracy Parsons (Director, Access Initiative) explain a new program designed to ease tensions that have built up across the city. Learn more about the Champaign Community Coalition and how they plan to promote healing and move our community forward as one.
  • Dorothy David (Assistant City Manager) explains the City Council’s process of identifying and establishing new Council Goals. She’ll review what the new goals are and highlight a few key programs and tasks that City staff will be working on in the years ahead.

Champaign Connection is an award-winning 30-minute news magazine which helps the City better communicate with its residents. The show airs on CGTV (Comcast channel 5 and U-verse channel 99) nightly at 6:30 PM. The show is also available on-demand on the City’s website at ci.champaign.il.us/cgtv. Champaign Connection is produced by the Information Technologies Department with input from the Communications Advisory Committee.
