I grew up on a farm in Assumption, Illinois, and graduated from Assumption High School. I received my undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Mass Communications, Recording Industry and a graduate degree from the University of Illinois in Human Resource Education.
I lived in Nashville, Tennessee, where I worked as a publicist in the music industry and later as a volunteer director of a literacy non-profit. I moved back home to Illinois to take a job at the University of Illinois as a Financial Aid Administrator and to coordinate the America Reads/America Counts tutoring program in 2001. I became a licensed Realtor/Broker in 2007, shortly after purchasing my first home.
I currently reside in Holiday Park, and I continue to work as a Realtor/Broker. I am active in my church and enjoy walking my black lab (Jack), attending University of Illinois athletic events, painting, and music. I was appointed to the City Council in 2016, and I am proud to call Champaign my home.
