UNIVERSITY AVENUE LANE CLOSURE DUE TO SINKHOLE NEAR STORM SEWER INLET
Due to a sinkhole which formed near a storm sewer inlet, the City of Champaign closed the southern lane of University Avenue between Country Fair Drive and Mattis Avenue. City staff will work with a contractor to complete an emergency repair to the inlet and remediate the sinkhole as quickly as possible, with the goal to complete by the end of the day on Friday, August 24. The City appreciates the cooperation of travelers in the area and encourages caution when traveling through work zones.
