City Staff Hosts Bike to Work Day Stations

Nearly 400 bike riders across Champaign County participated in Bike to Work Day on Tuesday, May 1. This event marked the beginning of the 9th annual CU Bike Month, a month-long celebration of bicycling for people of every ability and interest level organized by Champaign County Bikes. The City of Champaign hosted two stations: one at the Public Works Building, and one at the City Building in Downtown Champaign. The two stations hosted 60+ Champaign residents and workers on their way to work. City staff provided snacks and coffee to visitors at both stations, and Neutral Cycle offered basic bike maintenance services at the Downtown Champaign station.

Bike to Work Day is one of a number of events during C-U Bike Month. For a full calendar of events, please visit www.cubikemonth.org.
