The City of Champaign and Champaign Police have received written notification from the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office, which states that criminal charges will not be filed against Champaign Police Officer Matt Rush. The letter further states that “…if Officer Rush were to return to active duty, we will not call Officer Rush as a witness for the prosecution in criminal proceedings.” Champaign Police Administration is currently reviewing the letter.
