UPCOMING LANE CLOSURES ON GREEN STREET AND FIRST STREET
Champaign – In order to complete routine storm sewer maintenance, National Power Rodding Corp. will require lane closures on Green Street (between Locust Street and Fourth Street) and First Street (between Green Street and John Street). Operations will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18 and are planned for completion by 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, weather permitting. Operations will cause lane closures daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. only and will not affect evening travel occurring after 4:00 p.m.
In order to complete this work, the following traffic control plan will be used during the operations.
1) Green Street (Locust to Fourth). Operations will take place in the eastbound lane of Green Street between Locust Street and Fourth Street. During the operations, eastbound traffic on Green Street will be shifted into the center turning lane through the work zone. Westbound traffic on Green Street will not be impacted by this work.
2) First Street (Green to John). Operations will take place at the southwest corner of Green Street and First Street, which will close the southbound lane of First Street (south of Green Street). During the operations, southbound traffic on First Street will be shifted into the northbound left turning lane on First Street. Northbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane through the work zone. Green Street traffic will not be impacted by this work.
The public is encouraged to obey all construction signs or plan alternative routes to avoid this work.
