The Champaign Police Department Explorer Program is looking for youth who would like to learn more about law enforcement to join our post; applications are now being accepted!
The Department’s Explorer program is an avenue for students interested in careers in law enforcement, to gain a better understanding of these professions and experience them first hand. Invaluable classroom instruction and hands-on training are provided in this program. As a member of Explorer Post #258 participants will participate in community service activities and train in multiple areas including but not limited to:
• Building Searches
• Traffic Stops
• Accident Investigation
• Firearms Training
• Drug Awareness
• Leadership
• Handcuffing
• Control Tactics
• Use of Force
• Arrest, Search, and Seizure
• Evidence Collection and Processing
