REALTORS Breakfast at Champaign Library

REALTORS Breakfast at Champaign LibrarySusan Jones, Greg Skaggs, Joe Lewis, Kerri Spear and David Oliver attended a REALTORS breakfast at the Champaign Library on May 1 sponsored by the Neighborhood Programs Division and the Community Reinvestment Group. Approximately 25 local REALTORS attended the event to learn about programs offered by the City of Champaign’s Program Division and how they could relay that information onto their clients. Special guest Keith Pryor, of the Illinois Housing Development Authority Housing Division, presented the current IHDA incentives for mortgage and downpayment assistance in Champaign. One of the highlights was the Building Blocks program that is only being offered to fifteen communities in Illinois, Champaign being one of them. This program offers up to $10,000 for down payment assistance with a low interest rate for 30 years. Homes purchased must be vacant at the time the offer to purchase is signed for qualifications. This program can aid in eliminating vacant properties, whether they are in foreclosure or spec homes that have been built by contractors and have not been sold.
