Champaign Police Arrest Two in Home Invasion: Three Handguns Recovered (400 Block of W. Vine Street)

On January 2, 2013, at approximately 6:46 PM, Champaign police officers responded to a report of a home invasion in the 400 block of W. Vine. Upon arrival officers located and arrested two males. Officers also seized three handguns that were used in the commission of this crime.

The police response was initiated by a 911 call from the residence. The two male suspects were reported to have entered the residence, armed with handguns, and demanded money. As police arrived, one suspect was fleeing on foot from the residence and was quickly located by officers. The second suspect was located and arrested in front of the residence.

The two subjects arrested have been identified as Michael Miles, 22, of Urbana and Derrial D. Webster, 22, also from Urbana.

At this time police are not looking for any further suspects and do not believe there is any immediate danger to the community.
