23 Years of Landfill Space Remaining in Illinois

According to a recently released report from the State of Illinois, there are 45 landfills in Illinois that have capacity for only another 23 years worth of waste. The City is making great progress on solid waste reduction through helping residents divert their yard waste, electronic recycling, multifamily recycling, expanding on street recycling, and continuing to explore options for expanding curbside recycling and plastic bag reduction.
