Temporary Viaduct Closure The Main Street Viaduct will be temporarily closed for pedestrian access beginning on July 3, 2025. Pedestrians needing to cross between First Street and Chestnut Street/Main Street should utilize the sidewalk along University Avenue. The City of Champaign appreciates the cooperation of travelers through this area.
