STAR Mobile Tool Lending Library

The Neighborhood Coordination Division administers a mobile tool lending library to assist Champaign’s registered neighborhood groups and volunteers in their efforts to undertake small community building and improvement projects. The City has tools and equipment to use on various neighborhood projects throughout the city. These items can also be loaned to registered groups and community partners to support implementation of grassroots improvement initiatives led by caring, committed residents. Additionally, the mobile tool lending library trailer acts as a marketing tool promoting the STAR brand and various program components.

Items from the Tool Lending Library can be borrowed by registered groups or approved community partners, after completing checkout forms and any necessary liability waivers. Depending on the amount of items borrowed, the trailer could be transported to the actual site or tools could be disbursed from the storage location.
