About Greg Stock

I grew up in Peoria, Illinois, and graduated from Peoria Central High School. I attended Illinois State University and received a Bachelor’s degree in History. I also earned an M.Ed. in Education Administration and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois.

I moved to Champaign in 1994 and began teaching Social Studies at Centennial High School. I currently teach Law, Modern U.S. History, and African American history. In addition to teaching, I’ve served as Dean of Students, work a small part of the day in Centennial’s library, and serve as the Social Studies Department Chair. I’ve also worked as a Realtor for more than ten years.

I previously served on the City’s Historic Preservation Commission and the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, and in 2016 was appointed to serve as the District 4 representative on the City Council.

My life and career have been dedicated to educating and improving the lives of those who live in our diverse community. It is an honor and a privilege to serve the wonderful people in the City of Champaign.
