Champaign Police and the City of Champaign would like to thank all community members who participated in one of our recently completed listening sessions or study circles — providing important feedback on policing and public safety services in our community.
Public input gathered through the listening sessions and study circles was compiled and shared with the public and the City Council in a written report. The City Council reviewed the report on February 9, 2021. Read the Report to Council
LISTENING SESSIONS
The City of Champaign recently held five community listening sessions, inviting members of the public to share their vision for the future of public safety in Champaign. The listening sessions were the first step in a community engagement process to gather information from the public so it can be shared with the City Council as they make future public safety policy decisions to best address the needs, interests, and values of our community. Each session included Chief of Police Anthony Cobb and Police command staff, City Manager Dorothy Ann David and elected City officials.
