Raising Futures Conference Connects Families, Educators, and Resources

On March 28, the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club hosted its first annual Raising Futures Conference at the I Hotel and Conference Center. The daylong event brought together parents, caregivers, educators, and community partners for a series of presentations focused on supporting the healthy development and education of children and youth. Speakers from a variety of fields shared insights, practical strategies, and resources aimed at strengthening families and promoting positive outcomes for young people.

In the afternoon, attendees had the opportunity to connect directly with local service providers during a community resource fair. Participating organizations included the City of Champaign Equity and Engagement Department, YWCA, Y on the Fly, Courage Connection, Birth to Five Illinois, the Salvation Army, Crisis Nursery, and many others. The resource fair offered valuable information on services ranging from early childhood development and family support to housing assistance and crisis intervention.

The conference created a collaborative space for learning, connection, and community engagement, reinforcing the shared commitment among local organizations to invest in the well-being and future success of children and families in the Champaign community.
