The City’s Fall Yard Waste Collection program was scheduled to run from October 13 through December 12, 2025, with every Champaign residence scheduled for four collection dates. After Thanksgiving, however, winter weather made an early appearance, requiring crews to shift focus to snow and ice control. After a couple of weather related delays, collections concluded on December 23, with a total of 165,120 bags collected Citywide.
Residents may dispose of yard waste by composting materials, contacting a private hauler, or taking items to the Landscape Recycling Center in Urbana for a small fee.
