Fraternity Hosts Cleanup Event in Washington Park

On Sunday, October 26, members of the professional fraternity Alpha Rho Chi held a cleanup competition in Washington Park at 245 E. Chalmers in Champaign.  The group borrowed gloves, litter sticks, trash bags, and buckets from the Neighborhood Relations engagement trailer.  Volunteers raced through the park to see who could pick up the most trash.  The group collected 88 pounds of garbage in total.  The winner of the event collected 22 pounds individually, and received a trophy handcrafted from recycled materials.

Registered neighborhood groups, local service organizations, and various City Departments have started to rely on the engagement trailer to provide games and supplies to help make their outreach and engagement events successful.
