Employees from the Champaign Police Department, Champaign Fire Department, and the Equity & Engagement Department joined community groups from around Champaign for several trunk-or-treat events hosted between Friday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 28. These events promoted a fun, safe environment for children to enjoy the Halloween season and gather some candy. Departments provided candy and City swag while promoting Halloween safety tips with attendees. CPD also presented special prizes to children attending the events dressed as junior officers.
This year’s trunk-or-treating season wraps up on Friday night, October 31, with an event from 5 to 6 p.m. at Y on the Fly (2422 W. Springfield Avenue, Champaign). Following that event, trick-or-treating hours in Champaign will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 31.
