On Monday, June 16, the Neighborhood Services Department-Relations Division hosted a resource exchange focused on the topic of best practices for neighborhood engagement. Neighborhood Relations Manager John Ruffin gave a presentation on neighborhood organizing, including holding effective meetings, planning and implementing neighborhood-based engagement activities, and the resources offered by the City to support registered neighborhood groups in their organizing and engagement efforts. Guest speaker Debby Borg from the Timberline Valley South HOA gave a presentation on how to host a successful neighborhood clean up event. NRD resource exchanges are hosted once a month to provide information relevant to the City’s organized neighborhood groups in promotion of active and engaged neighborhoods throughout the city.
