Officers with Champaign Police made stops at several local summer camps this week, offering messages on the importance of 9-1-1 and sharing technical expertise to children throughout the area.
On June 17, 2025, Champaign Police stopped by two camps – one at Indian Acres Swimming Club and one at the Parkland College Child Development Center. Officers interacted with campers from ages 2 through 12, answering questions and sharing information on using 9-1-1 in an emergency.
On June 18, 2025, the CPD Crime Scene Unit stopped by the Stephens Family YMCA to teach campers about fingerprints and evidence collection as part of their Secret Agent Camp.
