Shooting Investigation – 1400 Block of Clock Street

Champaign Police were dispatched to the area near Giboney Street and Tower Street at 10:38 p.m. on June 7, 2025, following a report of shots fired nearby. As officers worked to locate the source of the reports, at 10:48 p.m., a 21-year-old Champaign man walked into an area hospital with gunshot wounds to the arm and torso. The man received immediate medical treatment and remains hospitalized in stable condition. A short time later, a scene was located with evidence of gunfire in the 1400 block of Clock Street.

The initial investigation indicates that the man was driving through an alley near Clock Street when his vehicle was fired upon by unknown subjects and he was struck. The Champaign Police remained in the area for several hours to collect evidence and conduct a thorough canvass for witnesses, and video of investigative significance. Damage has been located to one vehicle in this incident. Any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance camera systems is encouraged to notify the police department. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Future updates may be provided as they become available.
