On May 29, the Neighborhood Services Department hosted a day-long site visit by representatives from the Illinois Office to Prevent Homelessness, including Chief Homelessness Officer Christine Haley and Senior Policy Advisors Euginia Olison and Michael Mallory. The visit provided an opportunity for local elected officials to engage with Ms. Haley and her team regarding State resources available to support our community’s collaborative efforts in addressing homelessness.
During lunch, Ms. Haley provided an overview of State resources and technical support available to build a more effective local delivery system to address the homeless within our community. Additionally, throughout the day, Ms. Haley and her team were able to tour several local service initiatives engaging our community’s unhoused population.
