The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a single-family residence in the 2500 block of Campbell Dr., Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2:08 p.m. Fire crews were able to quickly get the fire under control.
Firefighters responded to a report from an occupant of a fire in this single-story home. Once on the scene, crews reported moderate smoke coming from the front door. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines inside the building and were able to quickly extinguish the fire that began in the kitchen.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported.
