The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire outside a single-family residence in the 400 block of Doisy Ln., Monday, May 5, 2025, at 9:04 a.m. Fire crews were able to quickly get the fire under control.
Firefighters responded to a report from a passerby of a fire in this two-story home. Once on the scene, crews reported light smoke coming from the side of the building. Firefighters deployed a single hose line outside the building and were able to quickly extinguish the small fire.
The cause of this fire was accidental and began in a trash toter. There were no firefighter injuries reported.
