Sharing Stories of Hope

On April 24, 2025 the Lived Experience Subcommittee hosted a Women’s Focus Group at Strides Shelter. During this session, subcommittee members facilitated discussions to understand the factors contributing to homelessness, identify helpful services, and explore how service providers can improve their support. The evening fostered positive feedback, highlighting the significant impact of services provided by various CSPH organizations. The Lived Experience Subcommittee intends for these check-ins with residents of Strides Shelter to become a regular occurrence.

The following day, Justice Victim Advocate, Angela Worthy (E&E) shared their journey with others currently experiencing homelessness and utilizing community services. This presentation, accompanied by stories of resilience and hope from representatives of CU Church and Second Chance Sober Living, reached over 70 individuals, offering much-needed encouragement in their struggles with homelessness.
