On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Champaign Police joined nearly two dozen families for our annual Shop with a Cop event at Meijer in Champaign. This event is funded by community donations and coordinated by CPD Officers. It helps to ensure that families in our community have a happy holiday season. The event is capped off with an opportunity to sit for a meal, including pizza and food donated by Meijer. Santa even stopped by for a chat, a photo, and – apparently – a field interview with Deputy Chief Olmstead (as seen below on the right).
CPD officers were joined at the event by members of the Police Explorers, Parkland College Police Department, and United States Marshal’s Service.
