The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a commercial building in the 300 block of S. Market St., Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 12:41 p.m. Fire crews were able to quickly get the fire under control.
Firefighters responded to a report from a passerby of a fire in this single-story commercial structure. Once on the scene, crews reported moderate smoke and fire coming from the building. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines into the building and were able to extinguish the fire.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter injuries reported.
