A home in the Garden Hills neighborhood fell into extreme disrepair. An exterior housing case and several nuisance complaints were opened on the property. NSD brought in a contractor to remove a large amount of refuse from the yard, mow the lawn, and secure the property.
The housing case had been referred to the Legal Department, and it was expected that the City would have to demolish the building. Prior to the City moving forward with legal action, the bank foreclosed on the property. A sheriff’s sale was held where a local property owner purchased the location. The new owner quickly made a number of improvements. The property has undergone a significant transformation and is no longer a blight on the neighborhood.
