The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a single-family home at 506 N. Fifth. St., Thursday, February 23, at 9:49 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire in the home.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in this two-story residence, with all the occupants already outside. Once on the scene, fire crews reported moderate smoke coming from the home and shortly after arrival, fire from two first floor windows. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and worked to extinguish the fire.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported. The occupants of the home will be displaced because of this fire.
