The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fully involved structure fire at 1314 S. Duncan Rd., December 14, at 4:35 a.m. Fire crews worked to extinguish the fire at this single-family home.
Firefighters responded to a report from a passerby of a fire in this single-story home. Once on the scene, firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the home. The occupant in the home at the time of the fire was outside waiting for first responders upon arrival. Fire crews deployed multiple hose lines and extinguished the fire defensively from the outside of the structure.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported. The occupant of the home will be displaced because of this fire.
