Justice Victim Advocate, Jarrel Young read “Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem” by Amanda Gorman and gave the children words of encouragement during their huddle time. The youth and staff were informed about the City’s Blueprint partnership with DREAAM as well the importance of education. The purpose of this READ Aloud event was to encourage youth to stay on the right path; provide a space for them to feel comfortable and safe; and show the next generation how to give back to their community. City staff from the Equity and Engagement Dept. and DREAAM staff were in attendance.
