On July 13, 2022, staff from across City departments supported WCIA’s Victory Over Violence Spotlight on Solutions event at Hedge Pop! Park. Community members gathered to enjoy music, games, and food provided by local vendors. $300,000 was donated to the United Way of Champaign County to be put back into the community through both immediate and long-term solutions to help prevent violent crime. The donation was comprised of $50,000 donations from the University of Illinois, Busey Bank, Christie Clinic, Carle Health, OSF Healthcare and the United Way of Champaign County.
