The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a duplex at 412 Nathaniel Burch Dr., Tuesday, July 12, at 7:28 a.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire in this two-family home.
Firefighters responded to a report from an occupant of a fire in this two-story duplex. Once on the scene, firefighters reported smoke and fire coming from a second-floor bedroom of the residence. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and quickly extinguished the fire primarily contained to the bedroom.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. Two adults and three children were in the unit at the time the fire started. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported. The occupants of the building will be displaced because of the damage.
