Champaign Police Participate in University Forum

On April 1, 2021, Chief of Police Anthony Cobb and Tom Yelich (Assistant to the Chief of Police for Community Services) participated in a conversation with University of Illinois’ administrators and students regarding the term “defunding the police,” police reform, and the steps underway at the Champaign Police Department. The session was coordinated by Jewell White, the Gies College of Business Assistant Dean for Access and Multicultural Engagement at the University. The forum, designed to give students a platform to discuss difficult topics and to become active listeners, lasted an hour and was a great opportunity to engage with our campus community. Police extend their appreciation for the invitation.
