Homicide Investigation – 2500 Block of Leeper Court

On November 26, 2020, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Champaign Police responded to the 2500 block of Leeper Court for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 31-year-old male victim laying in the roadway. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was outside at a gathering when the suspect(s) approached and fired multiple rounds, fatally striking the victim. Police are currently processing the crime scene and interviewing possible witnesses. No arrests have been made at this time.

Any resident or business in the nearby areas with exterior surveillance camera systems is encouraged to contact the police department. It is believed video footage may be of investigative assistance.
