City of Champaign Responds to Storm Damage

The City of Champaign Public Works Department has mobilized resources to respond to Monday’s storm that left behind damaged trees, bushes, and other natural debris.  Primary damage was reported in multiple areas throughout central Champaign including fallen trees on University Avenue, McKinley Avenue, William Street, and Duncan Road.  Other reports of fallen limbs, signs blown over, and power outages have been reported.

City-owned tree debris is being picked up and will continue to be picked up from the public right of way.  Residents who have storm damage to City trees can contact the Public Works Department at [email protected] to submit a service request.

For debris from trees located on private property, the City recommends that homeowners contact their insurance companies, the Landscape Recycling Center, and/or their solid waste hauler to discuss options for removal.
