City of Champaign Issues Emergency Order 20-23

Today Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen issued Emergency Order 20-23 which waives the City’s license fees and bond requirements for itinerant merchant group sales events. The purpose of the Emergency Order is to make it more affordable for small, local businesses without a physical store to participate in group sales events (like parking lot sales and craft shows).  Group sales events must have a sponsor and be held on private property located in Commercial General (CG) zoning districts.  Group sales events must also have a safety plan for sanitation and crowd control purposes that has been approved by the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District. This Emergency Order is in effect through September 30, 2020, unless terminated earlier by the Mayor or City Council.
