Taught by the City’s Assistant Director of Planning and Development Rob Kowalski, students from an Urban Planning class at the University of Illinois visited the new Bristol Place Residences on February 27, 2020. There they heard from developer Jim Roberts and were able to tour several of the homes and learn about the City’s process for engaging neighborhood residents and planning for the new neighborhood. The tour gave an opportunity for students to learn about the overall process starting with neighborhood planning and master planning for the new neighborhood all the way to final site construction. The tour also provided the opportunity to learn about the needs for affordable housing in the community and how Bristol Place helps fill that gap.
