Suspect Identified, Warrant Issued in Jan. 22 Shooting Investigation

On Jan. 22, 2020, at approximately 10:43 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the 100 block of Kenwood Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old female with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to a lower extremity. The victim was transported to an area hospital and has since been released.

Suspect, Milton Davis As the investigation progressed, Champaign Police developed information to identify the suspect in the shooting as Milton Davis, 25, of Champaign. On Jan. 24, the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Davis for the offense of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Bond on the warrant was set at $100,000.

Davis is described as a black male, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Champaign Police reminds citizens that information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous.
